Animas High School offers a unique program to their juniors. Leading Internships for New Knowledge sends juniors on three week internships in the field of their choice. During LINK, students have no regular classes as they spend 30-40 hours a week with mentors in the workplace, learning how to apply their skills outside the classroom. BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
My internship was at CiMiAtch, a Graphic Design company focusing on logos and marketing. I chose this Internship because I wanted to explore ways to promote my art more using mediums more outside of my comfort zone.

REFLECTION

During my internship I became a lot more passionate about graphic design, this has been something I've been starting to get into the entirety of high school but being able to independently explore this outside of school gave me a lot of freedom. I realized all this freedom made it hard to motivate myself sometimes, however this is something that I'm very interested in so it wasn't as hard to sit down and do my work, especially because I could work on whatever I wanted and had no guidelines other than what I was focusing on that day. I got Mono halfway through this and I was upset I didn't have the energy to work on my projects. This link made me think about a career in Graphic Design more seriously, after it I considered schools with good programs for this like Denver University, and Metropolitan State University. I want to learn more about the programs im using like Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator so I can work on more complex projects and understand how to do it.
MY PROJECT
For my project I made my own clothing brand by making my drawings digital, I made a website to "sell" my pieces and even made some actual hoodies with a Silk Screener in town.
